Workforce Stability Index School District
Source: Statewide Information System
Arkansas is developing a Workforce Stability Index (WSI) to help inform school districts regarding considerations for recruiting, assigning, and retaining a quality educator workforce. The relative stability of an educator workforce can be estimated by examining factors determined to be relevant to educator quality. For the 16-17 school year, Workforce Stability Index (WSI) was based on inexperience, teaching out-of-field, provisional licenses and attrition, with WSI = 100 - (Inexperienced + Provisional + Out-of-Field + Attrition) / 4). Beginning in 17-18, WSI is based on inexperience, teaching out-of-field, teacher effectiveness and attrition. Beginning with the 17-18 data the formula for WSI = 100 - ((% Inexperience)+(% Out-of-Field)+(% Ineffective)+(% Attrition)/4).
